The best thing about writing this book?
The best thing about writing this book was that I learned so much about the 1880s in Wisconsin and that I can share that knowledge with my children and my students.

Where did you get your idea for this story?
This story was inspired by the Wisconsin Northwoods and the adventurous spirit of the lumberjacks.

What would you tell aspiring writers out there?
Don’t give up. Keep writing and be open to the inspiration in the world around you.

What is your favorite book?
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
