Q & A:

The best thing about writing this book? Exploring the myths of ancient Egypt as well as learning about the mindset of that culture.

Where did you get your idea for this story? I got this idea by looking at a photograph of the Gayer-Anderson Cat. It’s a statue in the British Museum of a seated cat with a winged scarab upon its breast. I started wondering about the reasons why that cat was wearing that particular piece of jewelry, and from that an entire story was eventually born.

What would you tell aspiring writers out there? Always write about what inspires you, and write from your heart.
