Q & A:

The best thing about writing this book?
Writing this book gave me the opportunity to warn others that if their doctor pursues them for an affair, it is not a romantic situation but victimization and abuse of power of the worst kind.

Where did you get your idea for this story?
I’ve heard and read many stories of women having affairs with their doctors.  They think they’re special.  A Medical Affair was written to show them they’re not beingflattered, they are being victimized.

What would you tell aspiring writers out there?
Pursue your passion and never give up. Be realistic about the level of your writing skills.  And if you’re fortunate and persistent enough to publish, keep your day job nevertheless.

What is your favorite book?
Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary has it all:  affairs, heartbreak, and tragic consequences.  Many more recent novels have similar themes, but Madame Bovary was the first book that made me love the genre of the novel.

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?
Most days, coffee.  On cold winter days, especially with snow, definitely, hot chocolate.

Anything else that you would like to add?
My goal is to continue to write novels with a message…a sort of work of fiction that nevertheless conveys what needs to be done when one is faced with a particular problem.

I want to thank Anne McCarthy Strauss for allowing me to promote her book on my blog. I hope this post has inspired you to go out and read A Medical Affair!
